felt tired overnight, doing on call, and seeing sick
people in the mid of the night
 
so today physically i'm tired...
 
sleep might help...
 
but in the Presence of the Lord, the
weary get, thy Perfect rest...
 
thats hopeful for me !!!

one of the fruit of the Spirit is Patience !
 
i saw a patient man today.
he was an african asylum seeker.
he has been in ireland 1.5 years and still
seeking asylum acceptance from irish gov.
 
he is married and his home is central africa
near the congo. the rest of his family, and wife
are back in africa, so he is all alone.
 
and he has been tested with patience
and endurance to live apart from friends
and family, alone in ireland, living with 40
other single men, also from various
countries seeking asylum
 
he is a christian
and he smiles alot
 
god bless him ! and strengthen his faith like
a crown thats precious in God's eyes.

its sunny today in Donegal town ! and thats glorious !
you can see the nice green hills of ireland, and
the cows are happy !
 
the little birds are happy and chirping.
 
and people in general are happy, when its sunny
 
the sun affects their moods .
 
so, imagine all that glorious light in heaven...never ends
and we dont get tired, sick, or sunburnt or eye strain !
 
all that light affects our moods too...happy chappies !
 
and i think our joy will be so full, we can't thank
and praise God enough !
 
Oh, how Glorious is the Lord, who is the light
of the world, and the light of our minds and souls
 
He is the unapproachable light !
 
and only ones washed in Jesus blood, can approach
that glorious light, without being harmed.

hello ! shelley ! and jason ! and friends...
 
well, we drove 5 hours across and to the northwest of Ireland, to
arrive in Donegal town, county Donegal ! passing through Dublin
and the southern tip of the UK (northern Ireland is the UK).
 
We passed through amazing towns, lakes and Irish country side...
which is rolling green pastures, hedges, and winter trees.
 
amazing scenery !
 
every time we see a flock of birds fly...its a reminder of God.
 
and even sometimes i forget that rain comes from God...cos
it always seem to rain in Ireland. !
 
We also passby lots of ancient looking walls, castles, buildings
 
i can just about amagine the olden days of horse riders , carts
and carriages...and the armies that march and make battles
here in Ireland
 
makes us want to watch Lord of the Rings again, or King Arthur
or Braveheart !
 
but we finally arrived in the ancient cosy town of Donegal !
very beautiful !
 
and we can see the steeple of the churches from afar..
 
thats so beautiful to see...
 
that our Lord's prayer houses and houses of worship
still dominate the skies
 
to God be the Glory !

Lord Jesus : if anyone shall follow me, he /she should take up his cross daily "
 
for a long time i didn't really know what that meant, or entails.
but i now understand its a daily thing...to follow the footsteps
of Jesus every day means to...
 
reject worldly wisdom and influences
reject worldly pleasures like pursuing money, fame, prestigue,
honour, family honours, nice cars, nice houses, luxury items
in the house, luxury clothes more and more...
reject pressures to live up to expectations of what others
want...all except what God's standards are
 
endure hardships : like working hard, working for lowly jobs,
or unfriendly work people/boss
endure criticisms from the world or family and friends about
one's faith /love for Jesus
endure shame and insults, and not retaliating.
 
and follow the example of Jesus
 
to bless those who harm/hate/persecute you
to bless everyone you know, the best you can
to help the poor, lost and needy as you best can
to pray for people around you
 
and to stay close to God : the Holy Spirit in
quiet times, in prayer , in listening, in praise and worship
 
everyday and each hour...
 
its a hard journey at times for most of us...
 
and for me also...

since coming back to Ireland, we have been readjusting
to the rain, the cold, and the dark.
 
and we are to wait on the Lord.
 
what does that mean i often wondered.
 
i think it means : to spend time with God, closely, being
near him, being in his presence constantly, to be renewed
in spirit, heart and mind, to search out his will, and leave
our plans and agendas behind, to praise and worship Him.
 
so that after this peroid of waiting, i can be ready for
him to help and minister.
 
how do you wait on God ?

i remembered the Lord taught this :
"blessed are the humble, for in due time I shall exalt them"
 
and sometimes i wonder about that saying in daily life.
i see several truly humble people each day, and they
work hard and often send money to their family back
to their home countries...but they often wonder where
their money is spent...
 
and at times i see beggars begging...some are very
pushy, but others are humble and desperate...
 
and even I find it hard to give to the pushy ones !
 
but, i sometimes wonder if i'm in their shoes, would
i be the desperate pusy ones or the humble silent
ones.
 
i think the humble silent ones seem to be more
accepting and content with people's rejection.
like Jesus...he was silent and received rejection
and criticism before being crucified.
 
so, i remind myself everyday, to be simple and
just do the best one can.
 
and the Lord, who sees everything done shall
reward the faithful or the humble or the loving.

i was driving this morning from Wexford to Gorey to start work at 8.30am.
it was misty...and as the sun rose, i can see the blanket of cold mist hanging
over the fields and trees and houses...just like in the movies like the misty
scenes of the Lord of the Rings...
 
it was spectacular.
 
i was feeling lonely , travelling alone , without the companionship
of Alison.
 
but while listening to a worship CD, i was touched and reminded how
close and near God is...
 
so i opened my heart and soul to listen to the Lord
 
and tears came to me, as i am reminded about him...
 
he is my light...so i looked at the sunrise and its Him
he is my breath and life...so i saw the cold breath i breath out...its Him
he is the Creator...and i looked at the green grass, the winter trees : its Him
he is my comfort ... and my exceeding great reward : its Him
that cause me to have tears of forgiveness and joy
 
every good and pure thought ... its Him
 
every good deed ... its by Him, through me
 
i was very blessed, and felt so at peace and felt so close
to the Lord this morning...
 
and the whisper voice of the Holy Spirit in my mind...
its Him...such comfort and words of profound loving wisdom...
 
Lord...its you and you alone...who satisfy my soul
through and through
 
Jesus : my one and only true Master and father.

Wexford, county wexford, Ireland ...is a cosy town, but always
changing fast.
 
one thing that is still there...is the twin towers of 2 churches.
the steeples can be seen from far away when you approach
the town.
 
its a reminder of the houses of prayer to our Lord.
 
and in the 2 main wexford churches... there are many beautiful
works of art, one being life like statues of Lord Jesus..
one wearing a red cape, the other wearing a yellow cape.
 
these 2 statues are very really and look almost exactly like our lord.
 
but, they are only reminders of his face and presence, because
he is within us also as the holy spirit, and he is physically
in heaven most of the time, and he is all around , occupying
the whole universe and heavens as the Holy Spirit of God.
 
its beautiful being back in Ireland, and with Irish people.
 
they are so welcoming, and friendly.
 
they are so hard working...through cold winds, heavy rains,
and long dark grey days...
 
i think they are amongst the world's toughest peoples.
 
god bless the irish...every ever they find their home and heart to be

its our last day in madeira island of Portugal.
 
time to say good bye.
 
bye to the beautiful sea, and the sunrise and sunsets over the atlantic
 
bye to the misty mountains and valleys
 
bye to the orange roof top houses on the many hills of madeira
 
bye to funchal, and its people
 
bye to the portuguese speaking people
 
alison has been so good with her portuguese. everyone who
hears her says how well she spoke.  i'm very proud of her.
 
i felt very unworthy here in madeira...a reminder of who i really
am. and how much grace God has for me, and for all people.
 
and Christ's suffering for me really has renewed meaning.
 
i am no better than the destitutes begging for money that we
see in madeira everyday.
 
and everyday, i look out for the few that do beg, and at least
give them some, enough for their next meal at least.
 
i feel i give unto the lord if i give to them.
 
i am reminded, that god looks after the destitute and the humble.
he looks upon the humble and poor with great affection.
i am reminded that he seeks out the lost more than the righteous
and his compassion is great for the unloved.

its fun for everyone, even kids...so today
in madeira they have kids carnival
 
lots of colours, costumes and fun music for the
children
 
it brings life and joy to the city , the people
the school children and their parents and teachers.

we are still in Madeira, portugal.
 
and today visited a town called Machito .
 
its a town nested between two tall cliffs, and next to the ocean.
 
nice cosy town !
 
and on the bus there, met a man from south africa, now living in
london...
 
he travelled the world, but has the nerves when it comes to stressful
situations.
 
so, we shared that we put all our cares and anxieties into the
hands of someone far greater than us...almighty God

its been great
we go on bus excursions to other towns everyday.
crossing over tall mountains, and valleys and
gorges.
scary drop off cliffs
 
and the portugeuse language is beautiful to hear.
and more beautiful to read
 
to me its like poetry
 
" the first shall be last and the last shall be first"
